General Culture:

Easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Best golden foliage color in full sun. Prefers moist, fertile soils. Avoid wet, poorly-drained soils, however. Shelter from wind.

Noteworthy Characteristics:

Vintage Gold is a dwarf, golden foliage form of Sawara cypress. It is an evergreen, mounding, globose cultivar that reportedly will reach a mature height of only 30" tall. It features golden, fine-textured, feathery foliage. Very slow growing.

Problems:

No known serious insect or disease problems. Plants in the genus Chamaecyparis generally have some susceptibility to juniper blight, root rot and certain insect pests such as bagworms.

Uses:

Rock gardens, foundation plantings. Excellent dwarf specimen. Golden foliage provides year-round interest.
