General Culture:

Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Best in full sun. Prefers moist, fertile soils. Avoid wet, poorly-drained soils, however. Shelter from wind.

Noteworthy Characteristics:

慔age?is a miniature Hinoki cypress cultivar that grows in a dense globose form to 1 1/2?over the first 10 years. It is very similar to C. obtusa 慛ana?except it is smaller and grows slower. Dark green foliage.

Problems:

No known serious insect or disease problems. Plants in the genus Chamaecyparis generally have some susceptibility to juniper blight, root rot and certain insect pests such as bagworms.

Uses:

Rock gardens, foundation plantings or other small areas. Excellent miniature specimen. A good plant for bonsai.
